Default Wanted! WW1 Royal Defence Corps cap badge

Hi folks,
....can anyone point me in the right direction of said capbadge please? The one I'm after is the royal cypher one with the slider and not the circular one!
I'm helping out with a museum, and am doing a uniform for them showing how a member of the RDC would have been dressed, whilst guarding & looking after emergency landing grounds for the RFC at home in the UK.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If this is the one you are after - Good luck, I have been after one for many years now.

This suggests the cypher and crown version without the scroll is an alternative to the round one for your display.

Most likely it's the same generic badge as worn by the Military Provost, Barrack Wardens and so on.

The few references on line suggest that this Cypher and Crown was the badge worn on formation in WW1 and that the circlet followed it. The scarcity of the 3rd scrolled version does suggest it was not on general issue considering the size of the Corps.

The WW1 Norfolk yeomanry was much bigger. It does not stop people selling the small badge as NY.
This picture shows the large NYeo GV badge, the large GVI and the late WW2 small version alongside the small GV and crown badge. The small GVI badge was for the GS cap and beret where as prior to the war the khaki cap was worn with the full sized badge.

Default Norfolk Yeomanry

Hi Alan

I support what youíve said the small cyphers were never worn by the NY. Most of the small GV badges Iíve seen are also repro.

Regards

Here is my first pattern. Like everyone else here it was the last gap in my RDC / NDC collection albeit Iíve been lucky and acquired Ďthe setí within 5 months.

From extensive web searches Iíd concur that this badge cannot have been widely worn. Indeed the only image of one on the World Wide Web is that shown in post #2.
