Default EARLY RAF TROPICAL SHOULDER BOARDS

Can anyone date this set of tropical RAF shoulder boards?They came with a set of dog tags which say the following on both

SNR COMDNT
MACHIN
MEF
C OF E

I believe these to be from 1918/20s as the crown and eagle badges were removed by AMWO 617/18 although AMWO 783/19 continued their use on khaki uniforms. The khaki rank braid continued to be used on tropical dress until about 1938.
