Here’s an idea
All,
Most of us don’t like to have fakes in the collection. I have some as I don’t have originals for whatever reason. It does make me think however that we older collectors have a chance to seed an interest in our hobby by using these fake/copies/repro items rather than ditch them. Why not write FAKE on the back in permanent pen and give it to a kid. The RBL or something I use my fakes for kids at armed forces day events or for the 50p lucky dip to raise funds for the Legion etc No loss to me, helps fund a good cause and as a child interested in military stuff, who wouldn’t want a free badge. Just a thought. I won’t be swayed but if the idea spurs others on to using their unwanted items for a good cause, then the thread has been of value imo. Happy collecting |

Permanent marker isn't permanent on metal and can come off very easily.

Or scratch
It’s only an idea.
Scratch it in the back if Permanent pen isnt suitable. It would work on cloth and plastic. It’s just a shame imo to ditch these things. |
