unknown Chinthe badge

Burmese? prongs on the rear for fastening. Any ideas?

I'd guess modern Burmese, but that's an off the cuff guess. Later I'll see if I can find any evidence!

Thanks Peter , this one seems to have some age to it but I had not seen bend over wires on an Indian or Burmese badge before. The other thing I found curious is that the Chinthe appears to be pushing over the pillar , the badge does not appear to be bent. Kevin

Not necessarily be a badge.

Might be a decoration for a door handle, jewellery box etc.. while i was in Burma (wasn't collecting badges or medals then) I saw Chinthes on all sorts of things..

looks like it is made just like a badge found on horse fittings, ie lead with a wire fitting and brass plated.

Keep looking at it, not even sure its a Chinthe now as have never seen one with raised leg. It is cast brass with a tin like plate similar to some Indian badges. China? Kev
