'How to Tell Cavalry Regiments'
Found this in the back of a 1915 copy of 'The War Illustrated', and thought it might be of interest:

Alright I'm no expert in WW1 badges, but even to my limited knowledge the press appear to be maintaining their substandard ability to identify ANYTHING. Recently 'tanks' are actually APCs, 'Machine guns' are assault rifles or even air rifles and 'hand guns" are blank firers or air pistols. I bloody despair at the ability of the press to ID anything correctly. QVC, KC, QC, automatic/semi auto/bolt action/air rifle, it appears that anything that can be mis-interpreted will be. SAS = SBS = SRR = JSFSG
Rant over, off the soap box and breathe... |
