Cavalry Rank Chevrons

Hello

Could someone tell me please if the Rank Chevrons as worn by Line Cavalry on introduction of Service Dress 1902 changed significantly in any way between then and say WWII eg. in size or shape?

I was also wondering if anyone knows of a reference publication dealing with the subject of Rank Chevrons & Crowns etc.?
