RNAS CPOs Cap Badge
It would appear from A W Gamage's list of badges that the Bronze CPOs cap badge was first worn by the RNAS and not by the RND who, at a later date in 1914, then adopted it for their CPOs. Not this is a CPOs cap badge and not, as commonly stated, a POs cap badge. CPOs wore this style of badge, although normally gilt & silver wire, until 1922 when CPOs adopted the addition of laurel leaves and POs adopted this style of badge.

As that catalogue is c. 1917 how do your dates apply?

No date on my sheet. Would assume used by RNAS first. otherwise would have been listed as RND. First comes first. Agree used by RND and have two copies in my collection, one for RNAS and one for RND.
