Default Late Arrivals Club

re the Late Arrivals Club (or Winged Boot Club), I've run across a sterling silver, lugged winged boot lapel badge with a stamped number on the back, "925". I am assuming this number is some sort of recipient number. The pin could as well be American rather than RAF related. Can anyone point me at a database with 'members' lists in it for these?

I think the 925 refers to the silver content. Cheers Brian

Ive recently been told of a 'members' list, but as Ive never seen it referred to in any book, or on any site, I doubt it exists, and a call to be put in contact with the person concerned has brought nothing. As it was an unofficial 'club' I doubt any lists would survive in any official capacity either.

Default Late Arrivals Club

The Late Arrival badges (winged boot) were done in silver usually using a sand cast by local or area jewelers. If you want more on the Late Arrivals Club, you can also look up information on the Royal Air Force Escape and Evasion (E&E)Society (www.rafinfo.org.uk/rafescape/). Along with the badge there was a certificate issued. The winged boot is the symbol for the RAF E&E Society and the US Army Air Force E&E Society.

I have a photograph of a New Zealander pilot wearing his newly issued Late Arrivals boot. The photo bears his name, but not location or Squadron. So I would also be very interested in any Late Arrivals Member list if anyone does ever come across one please...
