Kings Regiment but a member of what ??
Someone at todays Liverpool Fair had a very interesting picture of a member of the Kings Liverpool`s wearing a collar/sash of some sort of society.
I wonder if anyone can please identify what organisation it belongs to. ( Some thoughts are a mutual society or a Temperance Society but may well be neither ) Thanks P.B.

Peter,
I can tell you that what he is wearing is known as a Velvet Collar. The 8 or sometimes 10 pointed star is represented in many Masonic, Friendly and Fraternal Socities as well as Temperance etc, but without any lettering on the collar its very hard to say which I'm afraid. The jewells are made of paste. regards

Looking at the shape of the stars top left and right I would say it is probably from a Temperance society lodge. They are very similarly shaped to the medals for 6-months abstinence

King's Regt
I cannot comment upon the sash, but the poor man looks like he needs a drink (or two)!
