The '30' with palm is an ops patch, worn on the flying suit by aircrew of 30 Squadron, Royal Air Force. 30 Sqn was a Hercules C-130K C1 & C3 squadron operating from RAF Lyneham for many years. The squadron, in line with other Herc squadrons, consisted of aircrew and ops staff only, the aircraft belonged to 'A' Line and 'B' Line, these 'Lines' maintained the aircraft and provided the squadrons (24, 30, 47 & 70) with serviceable aircraft for specific roles as requested by squadron ops for various tasks.
Your patch looks to be older, later patches were embroidered on cotton drill with merrowed edges. George |

The SA badge is likely lead. They cast a lot in lead during the war and coloured them, so just a bronze finish.
