Default oh wow

this find has just got better, that grey jacket has buttons on the trousers with a Norwich makers name, and i have just found this photo.

That is a great find Andrew - well done.

Given the makers name, the jacket is almost certainly that of the 4th Norfolk Rifle Vols who wore that style of grey jacket right up to 1888. The photograph you posted is of officers of the 4th Norfolk (in grey) and 2nd Norfolk (in dark blue). The gentleman sitting far right in the middle row is Lt-Colonel Robert Gurdon, commanding officer of the 4th. The gentleman sitting to his left in the dark blue with Britannia on is cap is Major Edward Henry Harvey Combe of the 2nd (later to be Lt-Col). The photo is post 1883 so it's technically the 4th and 2nd Vol Battalions of the Norfolk Regt.
