Question RFC with a slider

A recent addition, an RFC cap badge with a slider, this looks almost to have a bronze finish, is it patination over the last 100 years or a fake?

Thoughts appreciated.

I cannot answer regards the finish but I like the badge very much.

Should you ever wish to part with it please let me know.

I have a slider RFC very similar patina to yours. I had a slider version a few years ago but sold it to my regret. Replaced it recently via eBay.
