Norfolk badge?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373072049521
What are your thoughts I don’t like it. I’ve seen a few similar over the years and it always begs the question who wore it as it’s OR pattern with an officers badge finish and fittings. Anyway this looks like it’s just rolled off the production line to me. |

The blades arent correct size/shape/thickness and the plaque looks too thick also.
I think its a fake. regards

It’s a fake Gaunt plaque. The genuine ones are smaller, less even in shape and much poorer letter definition.
The badge itself I believe is a lost wax copy of a Victorian/Edwardian ORs badge. You can just about see the impression of the rectangular braze holes at each scroll end. A very cunning and good attempt. Last edited by Luke H; 04-06-20 at 05:59 PM. Reason: Typo |

I think that the answer is conclusive on the badge in the link.
You might be interested to see the badge below that I posted a thread about some time ago. Sadly, I removed the images because of a small issue. If you do wish to use any image that I post, I don't mind really, but please let me know first The original thread; https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=56936 Last edited by Nozzer; 16-11-21 at 10:37 PM. |

Hi there thanks for this and I read the other posts. Ive encountered a few similar badges over the years and nobody is sure. Suggestions offered have been the 6th cyclists blackening/bronzing badges, Cadets like the Greshams OTC badge for example, and WOs. But nobody is sure. You just never know and you’re always at school. Anyway it’s a nice badge!

I agree, absolutely no age to it whatsoever, awful.
