Unknown Solider in Postcard
Hi,
We found this postcard in our old kitchen in around 2008 - hidden behind the cupboards. Always wondered who he was, the type of solider, and what sorta year. Anything really about it. Thanks! |

Just an idea but you can search on findmypast the 1939 register by address which would tell you who lived in the house at the time and may tell you who he is.

Looks like a Dorset Yeomanry cap badge from what I can make out.
Good luck with your search. Tony.

I would suggest Royal Engineers with the photo taken around 1915 or 1916

I agree RE. The shoulder title looks too short for Dorset Yeo.

Simon and Tim I think have it, on second thoughts the laurel leaves are too "high" towards the crown to be D Y .
Tony.

The cap badge on the postcard appears to be an economy version.
