Lord Louis Mountbatten unique insignia.
Thought these images of Lord Mountbatten from the internet may be of interest.
Quote from wikipedia. He was appointed personal aide-de-camp by Edward VIII, George VI and Elizabeth II, and therefore bore the unusual distinction of being allowed to wear three royal cyphers on his shoulder straps. Tony.

Medals
Does anybody know what the silver medal with orange and red striped ribbon that he is wearing in image three is. It is worn in front of the DSO and does not seem to mounted with his group?

Looking at his entitlement, I think it is the King Birendra Coronation Medal from Nepal

Rather OTT to wear ADC badges to deceased soverieigns. But then he was usually OTT.

I would think "OTT" would be most appropriate for a Gold Stick.

In the third photo, looking at the visible ear, the Prince of Wales is standing beside Mountbatten.

Yes, that was something that came to my mind. Well, not the ear, but the heavy chain suggested me that it is not just an adjutant. So it still could be .............?

My first impresssion was because of the dark jackets and white trousers in the background, the hint of mountain ridge, the general feeling of being there again. This fed by the identidfication of the medal and it seemingly being added at the last moment.
Oh yes, look at the face between their shoulders. Typical Nepali gentleman: small, Nepal topi on his head, the glasses. Yes, I am convinced this was taken in Nepal, most probably Kathmandu.

I assume this image is from the same occasion.
Denoted as Coronation King of Nepal. Tony.
