Default 1st Citizens' Company of Edinburgh, 1859, forage cap badge (Bloomer 38)

Wondering if this badge (pics attached) is of the "1st Citizens' Company of Edinburgh, 1859, forage cap badge (Bloomer 38)" or something else entirely?

This badge looks very much like Bloomer 38, but is not blackened. It is gilt with bright highlights. It measures 48 mm high X 59 mm wide. Very robust detailing. Two wire loops on the back.

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

with kindest regards,

Tim

The badge was used/worn by a variety of organisations in Edinburgh at one time or other. Finishes vary.

Dave.

Hello Jean-Marie,

Thank you very much. The two badges are almost identical, other than the finish. This is very helpful.

with kindest regards,

Tim
p.s. Please pardon the slow acknowledgement while I was away on a little vacation

Thank you, Dave.

So it's possible that this badge may - or may not- have been used by the Volunteers. If only those Edinburgh Scots weren't quite so thrifty!

all the best,

Tim
