Staffordshire IY and Popski's Private Army
I would be very interested to hear members opinions of these two badges please.
1 Staffordshire IY in w/m. I have only ever seen one other and that had 4 lugs and the knot was tied the other way round - is this a common fake? 2 This Popski PA is hallmarked for 1953 so obviously not a wartime one - has any member more information on it? Many thanks Denis |

The PPA is a London Badge & Button Company repro. There are several threads on here about these. You’ll find the date mark is actually 1977. LB&BCo were founded as they are in 1973.
Believe a post or two on here may claim they were made for ex-PPA members or the PPA Association but this is untrue. Strangely these do seem collectible in their own right nowadays. I cannot recall what number they run up to but it is in one of the threads, I think over 100. |

The IY badge looks like a Badgeman2000 copy.

Long thread here on PPA badges. Posts 96 and 98 (page 7) discuss the LB&BCO type.

PPA and SIY
Thank you Luke and Tim for comments and link to very interesting thread on PPA and also Simon, I think you are right, the SIY badge does not have a genuine feel to it and has very fine pitting plus wrong loops, will return. Denis

I wouldn't touch the Staffordshire badge. Just wrong.
