Default 10th Gurkhas

I thought I'd share a couple of recent acquisitions both to the 10GR. The first is an early example of a cross belt plate in cast silver. The museum's book illustrates 5 examples of this type of design which was worn from 1902 > 1950. This one is a slight variant on one of those examples and I believe it to be pre WW1 . The other badge is an unusual one both in design and fixings - I think it may have been used on a pouch fitting possibly by the musicians of the regiment.

Two nice badges, and as already noted a lovely cross belt badge.
