Default Odd RAF badge

Hi All
Any ideas on this badge? It is quite small and I don't think it's a blazer badge though I may be wrong, full size button for a size comparison. I thought maybe an early rank badge or something like that?
Thanks, cheers,
Alex

Default Odd RAF Badge

Hello Alex,

Well that’s definitely an oddity, I have to say I’ve never seen anything quite like it before or any description amongst Air Ministry Orders that match it.

Best Regards

Hi All
Thanks for the replies, I think the WWI WRAF suggestion could be worth investigating. I will have to troll through the IWM archives to see if I can find any photos.
Cheers,
Alex

Central jewels are missing. The only answr I can think of is due to the light blue colouring of the eagle, associated with tropical band insignia. Hope this found helpful
