Artists Rifles Officer Service Dress.
Hello folks,
This badge feels sturdy and has weight to it, but I have been wrong about these badges before. Not really a strong area of my limited knowledge so could I ask the opinion of forum members about this Artists Rifles Officers service dress cap badge please. Kind regards, Jim |

Thank you for confirming the badge guys. Its ironic that an officers service dress is the first good artists badge that I have acquired. Every other artists that has passed through my hands has been fake. I cant even remember where this one came from (memory loss, getting older) but nevertheless I am over the moon to have a good one at last.
Thanks again. Regards, Jim. |

I too have never seen an OSD badge constructed like this either. That said, I think it is probably good anyway.

I have an OSD from the same strike, my example also has two holes, however they are E/W, directly above the blades. If I get a chance, I'll post a picture tomorrow. Regards. Brian |

Did the Officers wear a shoulder belt and pouch, if they did the badge may have been intended for the flap on the pouch and the holes are for screw fittings.
Just a thought. Marc

So would they be vent holes then... for the blade attachment process? JT |
