anodised collar badges
Can anyone recommend a "good" book on anodised collar badges.
I know some of the brigades and modern "super" regiments use[d] different collars to define battalions. I am trying to get collars to match my anodised cap badges and need a book to tie them together. Thanks Gordon |

Churchill " History of the British Army Infantry Collar Badge" covers anodised collars up to the about the date it was published (2001 ) as far as I am aware it is still the only book dealing with collar badges for all infantry regiments.( there are obviously books dealing with the badges of a single regiment )
P.B,

Gordon,
You may also wish to try and get an old copy of Colin Churchill and Ray Westlakes book 'British army collar badges 1881 to present'. This book shows many anodised examples and will assist you to connect cap badges with their correct collar examples. However this book is out of print, my copy is 1986. They turn up at military fairs and you may see one on amazon used books or even ebay perhaps. Good luck mate, its an interesting minefield you are entering! Bess |

If you are content with text then a copy of "Regimental Badges" by Major T.J. Edwards MBE., revised by Arthur L. Kipling 3rd edition 1963, this explains all the collar badges in the text. Also where a Bde is concerned and Bn collar badges are worn a line drawing is illustrated.
