Default 15/19th Hussars Shoulder Title Question

Hi All,

I have half started picking up things to my local regiment when I spot them at good prices but I'm after a bit of help.

I have found brass shoulder titles in a number of different versions but never spotted any cloth ones, did they wear cloth shoulder titles at any point in time and if so what type / style?

Did they ever wear slip on ones or the curved sew on style or was it always just brass then anodised?

Thanks a lot,

Michael

Cavalry regiments never liked cloth titles of any sort. When slip-on titles were introduced for battle dress in 1939 they were produced for all regiments and corps including the cavalry. They were rarely worn as most simply retained the brass titles.

The cloth slip-on title for the 15th/19th is shown along with those of the 4th/7th Dragoon Guards and the 16th/5th Lancers.

Cavalry slip-on titles are hard to find and therefore likely to be expensive.

Hope that helps.

Jon
