Default what did I buy on ebay?

sometime ago picked up these things on ebay for a few quid. very heavy steel? with a copper layer over - look like lids of some sort - mounted on the top is a brass (cast?) 17th Dogras badge - any clues

Default Purely a guess

Purely a guess, as to the use of the two items. Obviously used on ceremonial occasions, hence the badges possibly gun muzzle bungs or gun wheel hubs or reinforced curry dispensers. All the best Sean.
