Museum pieces need ID
Hi, all. I have a few museum pieces which are sadly lacking the documentation for a proper identification. One is partially tracked down and the others are unknown. Would appreciate any assistance in tying down IDs.
First up looks to be a US Army musician collar badge. Just wondering if there's any chance this could be a Commonwealth badge and/or what era it might have been used. Saw an on-line auction post which suggested Spanish - American War period. Next, the brooch looks similar to a Cameron Highlanders collar badge, however, to my eye it's too narrow and the thistle leaves/crown intersections are wrong. I'm guessing it's simply a "Highland" sweetheart pin. Finally, based on the ribbon, I might think the cross is French. On the other hand, live and in person the ribbon and cross don't really look quite right together. Cheers! |
