Didn't he "award" himself the VC at one point?

I can't remember if it was a VC or a similar design of his own - either way it must've been a bit uncomfortable when worn on his pyjamas.

A bit of a contrast there JT. The lower picture showing a legendary group, the upper picture showing a great, if somewhat frenetic, drummer and a superb bass player standing behind two right wankers.

There was a lot of that military dress fashion thingy among bands in the 60s, wasn’t there?

Yes JT, there was a period of playing dress-up. The difference between the pair of talentless twonks I referred to in your first picture and most of the other rockers around in those days was that the others at least had some musical ability as well as playing dress-up.

I’m detecting in your narrative a note of slight vexation, H

I must admit I do get rattled when I see Daltrey and Townshend posing alongside the two late, great, musicians whose talent they leeched off for all those years. The only thing Townshend was any good at was smashing guitars to pieces but that was because he didn't know how to get a decent sound out of them. As for Daltrey, what a tosser.

On the other hand, if you didn't remember the 60's you couldn't have been all there to start with.

I’d go back there if I could. The world is becoming increasingly unrecognisable to me. The older I’m getting, the more incomprehensible it all seems.

Yours,

JT, I know exactly what you mean. Mind you, if I could go back there now I'd need a disguise of some sort, I mean to say, the thought of bumping into some of the old slappers I knew back then doesn't bear thinking about. They looked rough back then so what the hell must they look like now?.
