Default I.N.Cc Eagle Button

Can anyone identify this button? Someone has the original die for sale on ebay but they can't identify it either. They have described it as Civil War period but on the reverse is written "gaunt and sons birmingham", and they weren't in business until 20 years after that. Anyone know what this could be?

Not an expert on buttons, but first blush, I'd say it's a US Infantry button, Company N, and probably a National Guard unit. Have no idea of date.

It is an International Navigation Co. button.
