Default Lancastrian Brigade

I am trying to find out how Regiments in the Lancastrian Brigade were identified when they all wore the same Brigade badge, did they have a different badge backing?

Following the Defence Review announced in 1957, by 1959 the Brigade was reduced to four regiments.:

The Lancashire Fusiliers had been transferred to the newly formed Fusilier Brigade on 1/4/1958.

On 1/7/1958 The East Lancashire Regiment and The South Lancashire Regiment were amalgamated as The Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Volunteers)

On 1/9/1958 The King's Regiment (Liverpool) and The Manchester Regiment were merged as The King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool).

On 1/1/1959 The King's Own Royal Regiment and The Border Regiment were merged to form The King's Own Royal Border Regiment.

In 1958 a Brigade cap badge was introduced, the red rose of Lancaster within a laurel wreath, above it the royal crest & below it a scroll bearing “Lancastrian”.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Different collar badges.
KORBR wore the lion
PWV wore the PoW feathers
Loyals wore the scaled down cap badge
Kings wore the fleur de lys with horse

Default Lancastrian Bde

The Brigade cap badge was not introduced until 31.08.59. although the design had been approved on 14.03.58.
The Bde badge was in use until the Queen's Lancashire Regt badge, and KRBR designs were approved on 17.06.69.
Finished samples of the QLR badge were approved on 27.10.69.
24.11.71. The Army Dress Committee inspected, and approved finished samples of proposed collar badges for Lancastrian Volunteers. These had been seen and approved by HQ King’s Division and the Regt.
Officers in gilt silver plate and enamel, with twin clutch fastening (Design No 03011)
Soldiers in gold and silver AA, with back plate and cotter pin (Design No 03011)
New collar badges to were replace, when present stocks were exhausted of Lancashire (PWV) (CB 8099) and the Loyals (CB 3458), the undermentioned:
Badge, Collar, Lancashire (PWV) AA (CB 8099)
KOR Border AA (CB 8387)
King’s (Manchester & Liverpool) AA (CB 8098)
Loyals (CB 3458)

I believe the Lancastrian Bde cap badge remained in use by the Lancastrian Volunteers until after the 1974 TAVR review.

26.05.76. At the 230th Meeting of the ADC, the Committee approval was given for the rebadging of 1 & 2 Bn, Lancs Vols as 5/6 (V) Bn, The King’s Regt and 4 (V) Bn, Queen’s Lancashire Regt.

Thanks for the help guys, very informative. Although, speaking to former members of the King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) I have been lead to believe that badge backings were worn to distinguish the regiments; QLR yellow felt diamond, Kings red felt square, and King's Own Border wore a red diamond. This makes the issue extremely confusing.
