The Royal British Legion Dark Blue Beret still has 2 eyelets to take a lugged Standard Bearers Beret Badge, while the Bandmans Badge for the Peaked Cap has a slider.

The berets are produced by Crompton & Webb and are maked as such or CW Headress Ltd.

Dear Ivan,

I am really sorry to say that both berets you show are fakes.

Wartime kangol berets and other manufacturers for that matter never had a weave like yours. Wartime berets are constructed as a cut birthday cake or pizza. But cut with a curved knife. The knitting machine used was made up of several knittingheads in a cirkel sowing diagionally towards the center overlapping slightly to knit the parts together ,creating the "swirls" seen on very well used berets and not visible on mint beret!

I am sure both your berets came from the same seller on ebay as i saw them at the time, this seller had one beret a month usually buy it now with a lower end price. All the same fake construction.

Sorry m8, you were not the only one that got stung.

Regards,

Johan

I wonder why the seller thinks it is made by Kangol?

Kangol is an old Babylonian word, roughly translated as " Open Sesame ". and their eyes fell upon riches.
