Default Red Cross Brassard

Hi All,

Can anybody make out what this stamping says, and if so, which language it is in and what does it say? To me, it looks vaguely Dutch but the design may be Norwegian? Looks like O with a crown above and crossed swords and snakes. Some kind of buckle like surround to it (where a british badge would have a wreath or garter strap).

Cheers,

Phil

Dutch Medical Corps, it would appear. However, I still can not make out what the stamp actually says.

Hi Phil

The top word appears to be "Inspectie". I've seen British armbands bearing similar stamps which I understood to be a requirement of the Geneva Convention covering the status of medical personnel as non-combatants.

All the best

Graham

Top word does read "Inspectie" or a direct translation in English "Inspection" and lower words "Geneeskundige Dienst" and in English... "Medical Service"

The word 'Inspectie" can be interpreted as reviewed, inspected by, or approved by, etc

They went back to their original Green backing in 2009, for both beret badge and collar tabs.
