Default SAS Sqn patches on ebay

Chaps
There is a seller with an
A Sqn patch
And B Sqn patch and tee on at present

All legitimate except B patch has a strange marking not like theirs

I do not think it's right

I threw some bids on but seller has blocked me now

So it worries me even more

Just my thoughts

Of course, the prize is a mega rare "H" Sqn patch from the Vietnam war. "H" Sqn existed for 5 mins in a drunken conversation between the CO and Ops Officers.

This is the listing:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-S...-/303412639421

Look on the sellers other completed listings and you will see the other SAS squadron patches.

There is nothing 'strange' about the markings on the B sqn badge on the above link.

Why not? Was there more than one variation?
I have a photo of a genuine one that is confirmed and was uploaded on social media last week. Comparing that one to this I'd say this one on eBay is a fake.

That link goes to a seller who joined eBay on 22 Dec 2019 and has only ever sold 1 badge.

It would certainly be interesting to see the photograph you mention for comparison to the example on ebay.
When you say "confirmed" do you mean as original and if so, how exactly?

The markings shown on the above B sqn badge is correct for B sqn badges. I.e. the Arabic letter on the paw palm (B) and the numbers on the claws (22). The badge itself has MANY original and legitimate variations and versions. This example shown, I am not familiar with - B sqn badges are not usually 'oblong' in landscape (if that makes sense). No idea if its genuine or not, I am merely not familiar with it - having a good working knowledge of current Sqn badges.

The A sqn badge, again not one I have seen.

I agree with Bess55 as above:

The B Sqn patch on ebay is different to all others that I have or have seen.

I have over 30 in my collection and none look similar to the one listed.

The quality is pretty average and the numerals on the paw look like TT as opposed to the numerals they are supposed to represent.

The A Sqn patch is fine. I have5 variations of that particular one.

Del.

Not a great fan of the 'B' Sqn one myself.

With regard to the 'A' Sqn one I have handled quite a few originals and the main comments I have are that:

1) The quality is not as high as the others.

2) After a bit of eye straining, the character appears to be a figure one (or a sans-serif 'I') Happy to be corrected but all the ones I have, or have seen, have a serifed 'I'.
