Default Canadian Made WW1 RFC cap badge and RCNAS cap badge

Some recent finds, a very nice Canadian made RFC cap badge made by Roden Bros dated 1917. And an other ranks Royal Canadian Naval Air Service cap badge without makers mark.

Thanks Bill

Default Another RFC badge

Here is another RFC made by Roden Bros. Toronto cap badge, has some type of painted wash to the letters RFC. Anyone seen this before?

They were normally finished in bronze or simply the base metal that they had been die struck from, just from the photograph you show of the obverse, I would say that example has been deliberately altered at some point during it's life, notwithstanding, still a good and original badge.
