BC,
It is (Keith) Rawlings- " OTC, CCF,CADET, ACF, Badges and Titles ", although it can sometimes be difficult to follow the badge is for Edinburgh Academy but he does not say if it was worn by their OTC or CCF, or both. Peter

Edinburgh Academy had a OTC with their own badge. It's possible that it could be a CCF badge but as yet I have not been able to find any photos of it in use.
it's possible that its not a hat badge at all. Correction the OTC was set up in 1908 and there was not a preceding cadet corps so it cannot be a CC badge. Last edited by Alan O; 03-11-15 at 12:56 PM. |

Thanks peter
Very interesting. Does it give a date or period worn? And now I understand Alan O interest. Thanks Alan for your reply. I'm sure I've seen this badge before. Maybe in a Bosleys sale. Will have to get out the catalogues and flick through them Cheers Bc |

I think it was on Bonhams website from an OTC auction a few years ago. I near complete OTC/CCF collection was auctioned on boards quite a few years ago but I can't find the online page with pictures.

This was the OTC cap badge. I attach a photo from the CCF in 1954 where the old OTC badge is in use on the hat and it appears the sporran. K&K state there are variations on the design which I suspect is because they had a cap and a sporran badge. Last edited by Alan O; 03-11-15 at 12:53 PM. |
