The UOTC also used Wessex collars and buttons on No2 dress. No2 dress was not issued as standard but was borrowed from the local Wessex regt for certain occasions such as burial parties.

I can perfectly understand it for Exeter Alan,but Southampton seems odd. Id have thought Hampshire would have been more appropriate.

The local TA regt was the Wessex Regt. There was no TA Hampshire Regt.

The TA Officers and PSIs in the UOTC were drawn from 2 Wessex.
