Popski Private Army,period photo.
Just found this on the internet and I thought it would be interesting to share a little-known unit badge and shoulder title even if the photograph is not that great. Surely you have noticed something odd about Peniakoff ???

YES, P.B. you are absolutely right.If you check his left sleeve....no hand but a hook or some device used in those days to replace a missing hand.

I am most surprised, whilst it is many years since I read his excellent book, I cannot recall Popski mentioning the lose of his hand in it.
