Nice WW2 photos. The green cloth shamrock backing on the green caubeen for officers can clearly be seen. Interesting to see they are all wearing the London Irish Rifles style badges on the caubeen without the 'Faugh-a-ballaugh' motto on scroll. I've often seen the badge without scroll referred to as an other ranks pattern but here it is clearly being worn by officers as well.

Here is one of an officer wearing the Officers pattern badge with scroll. Perhaps these were issued later?
