Default 7th (TA) Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Cloth Combo

Hi friends

Would this combo have been used from North African and onwards or NW Europe only?

Where would the regiments sign have been made and its WWII original Scottish home base.

I have spent days trying to find info on this combo, whilst there is many references of the 7th A&SH, I have not found a descent image of this being used, so any comments regarding the history of this combo would be appreciated.

cheers

Phill

It looks like a genuine and pretty standard combination as worn by 7 A&SH, 154 Inf Bde in UK and NWE Nov 43 to Aug 45. Ive always assumed that the regimental flash (known in 1 A&SH c 1963 as the TRL (Thin Red Line)) was made in UK. Mike

Thanks Mike

Much appreciated for the info.

The regimental flash is machine guided on a specific type of wool backing, maybe local to where the unit was raised? It is also thick, not sure if that makes any difference and or a manufacturers variation.

thanks again Mike

Phill
