New to Uniform and Military buttons
Hi everyone
I have been collecting buttons for years but recently began collecting some military and uniform buttons. I am stumped by this one button that I know from the help of a FB forum is a Diplomat Button and I believe it to be Royal Army Services Corps. Cannot find the date or value anywhere and I am not sure what I will do with this little gem. I have attached pictures of the front and the back I would really appreciate any information Thanks in advance |

Hello,
The RASC wasnt created until 1918 and this button looks 100 years earlier to me. Possibly not a military button but cant help ID it. regards

Early Diplomat Button?
The motto around the border is the same as the Corps but you are correct it is quite old. Could the mark be that of Samuel Firmin? That would put it 1790 - 1801ish

I guess you did not appreciate its entirely manual engraving ...
From oldcopper.org: Samuel Firmin (S.F.); near Somerset House. 1770’s to early 1790’s. Samuel Firmin, Strand. London. 1793-1796... |
