Default Patch info

Can anyone tell tell me what the attached patches are please? Is the large coat of arms a general patch worn by all the army? On the Headquarters one, when did this take over from the old patch.
Which units wear the two modern patches.
Any info would be most welcome

Hello,

The first patch is the rank badge of Warrant Officer Class One, for polyester shirt. Introduced about 1975 I think, although I stand to be corrected there. We stopped using formation patches in the very early 1960s apart from commitments to ANZUK Force, etc, in Singapore/Malaysia.

I'm not familiar with the black/yellow/red Unit Colour Patch, must be a very modern one for NORCOMD or a similar formation. Be interested in knowing what it is myself.

The Army Headquarters patch is just that, a barracks patch, or Unit Shoulder Patch worn on the right shoulder of the shirt by members of AHQ, formerly Army Office.

The 2 CAV one is also a barracks patch.

The 2CAV patch is a now obsolete patch made by Platatac. To be honest I'm not sure of the regiment wore that version as I've never seen pics of it being worn.

The first one is a WO rank patch. I have one on a pale green backing for the RWAAC.
