Thank you Alan
So WW1, if the write up is to go by, however, if they made WW2 arm of Service strips, could they have continued to make cap badges?

Indeed, did they actually make badges or were they subcontracted out to others? The sliders look like F. Narborough.

I would agree they were an outfitter not a manufacturer.

From an article about Cambridge in WW1 :

Quote:
Mr Suttle employed (in) Cambridge 120 workers making chevrons and badges. One his contracts with the War Office was for the supply of 45,000 sleeve chevrons per week. The grand total of the badges and other supplies that he made for the war amounted to 100,000 per week.

Cloth chevrons , cloth 'Arm of Service' strips but it doesn't specify if "badges" are cloth or metal ?

I would have guessed that like many other tailors/outfitters they had metal badges produced with thier mm on them.

Thank you for all the interesting information chaps.
Nice to know it's a WW1 badge.
Subcontracting sounds like the way they did it, and it does look like an F.N slider CB, however the badge itself looks well made, FN didn't make the neatest of badges.
Cheers all

Chris
