black watch of canada.
hi gentleman.
sunday a buy a large lot of old genuine badges in my town (DUNKERQUE) in this lot i found a canadian badge of THE BLACK WATCH (royal highland regiment of canada). i just know a little thinks about canadian badges and need help.... the lot is contitued by british badge of BEF (1940) so i imagine that the canadian was WW2 too !!!! a price for this item ??? |

Salut Jeanpit:
This is a nice, original 1939 pattern, other ranks glengarry badge for the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada. Cannot tell you which variant, or speak definitively as to originality without close-up photos of the obverse and (more importantly) the reverse. Certainly a WWII badge (if original), as opposed to the post-war King's Crown types, which are somewhat more common. Cheers, Adam |

the badge is not flat, is well curved. |

Looks good to me. Most badges are unmarked but some have a small "R" on the reverse. Can you see such a mark?
