British Colonel - Airborne dress

The rank badges are for a full colonel with the correct staff officer buttons on red Gorget collar tabs. However, the jacket buttons are Parachute Regiment but should also be Staff buttons. Officers of the Parachute Regiment wore a darker shade of Service Dress. The lanyard, while in airborne colours, is one I have not seen before despite having a large collection of 200+ lanyards.
https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...p?albumid=2027 So I am a little suspicious, but that said it could have belonged to a Territorial Army officer or someone not too concerned by dress regulations. Tim

Dear Tim,
A huge thank for your opinion about this bizarre jacket. I will try to investigate deeper. Best regards, AATTV |

Maybe the owner was the Parachute Regiments "Regimental Colonel".

Regimental Colonels should wear collar badges and not red staff Gorgets. Also the darker pattern of Service Dress? Tim

Possibly an ACF County Commandant ? (ACF pin on titles removed ??), assume medal ribbons have been removed (otherwise unusual to reach the rank of Colonel with no medals )

** Paul, You can just see marks from some medal ribbons. Marc
