Default Hertfordshire Regiment

I bought these five Herts badges last week one of which has the England bar on the reverse below the hart at a slight angle. ( top left badge). I know there has been a debate regarding these badges but has anyone seen a Herts before? Regards Phil.

The badge with the ENGLAND plate is a fake. Notice also the dent just above the antler, an easy way to spot a fake.

Here you go Phil http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...8&postcount=75

Phil,
Nice little Herts group, apart from as Nozzer said the fake one with the England mark. I like the last one narrow antlers, with lugs

Hi Gents,
As I am new on the site and trying my best to weed out fakes in my collection, could I take this opportunity to ask opinions on my Hertfordshire badge?

I notice the antlers are fairly broad and the slider is mounted slightly off set.

I have had the badge 20+ years.
Many thanks, Les

Hello Les,

Have a look this thread http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ad.php?t=23414

Have a look through my album here http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...p?albumid=2163

As you can see, there are several variants of this badge. They are very common and can be picked up very cheap.

All the best,

Andy

Andy, many thanks for taking the time to send the links, afraid I did not go back far enough in the threads to find the one you added. Great album by the way. Les
