Rev: Athena standing right holding spear and shield inscription written vertically and partially obscured by concretion. BASILEWS ANTIOXOY PHILOPATROS. E in inner left field.

Rev: Irregular incuse with type 40/41 countermark.

Hendin 1150.
Traditionally considered to be the Widows Mite of the bible MK 12 v41-43.

Worn and battered but I like these old pieces most collectors would ignore.
Constantinus Gallus Caesar in the East 351-54 AD.
Ae 21 of Antioch.
Ob: Bare head right DN CONSTAN-TIVS AVG.
Rev: Soldier standing left knee raised spearing fallen horseman who is wearing a Phygian helmet. Dot S Dot star in left field. FELL TEMP REPARATIO.
Recalled to Italy and executed by Constantius11 for treason.

Ob: Kaniska standing wearing helmet cloak and trousers, left hand outstreched over alter his right holding spear. Legend unreadable.
Rev: Goddess MAO (The moon) head with double halo (nimbate).
Right hand sacrificing over fiery alter left resting on a staff. MAO in right field. Attractive purple patina.

Hi Ron, is there anything you don't collect ? To give people something to do, you should open up house as a museum. Strict health and safety rules of course..

Hi Mark,
Im afraid its a form of OCD, when I was a kid it was marbles; matchboxes; fag cards; bus tickets; even the fancy tissue papers oranges used to be wrapped in, used to drive my parents mad. Nowadays it just badges; medals; postcards; coins oh there we go again.
