Default 6th and 7th Bns Lancashire Fusiliers

The two pictures show the diamond arm badge with Bn number worn by the Territorial 6th and 7th Bns of 125 Infantry Brigade, 42nd Division between the wars.

The WWI divisional sign of 42nd (East Lancashire) Division was not retained by the postwar division but some units wore brigade signs similar to those worn in the war.

In 125th Infantry Brigade 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Battalions The Lancashire Fusiliers wore their battalion number in white on a red diamond - an example of the 8th's sign is shown - 126th Infantry Brigade wore green diamonds with battalion numbers for 4th and 5th Battalions, The Border Regt and 10th Battalion, The Manchester Regiment which wore it on their left arm only, whilst 127th Infantry Brigade’s 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th Battalions, The Manchester Regiment wore a yellow diamond with a red number.

Further examples of the Bn signs worn in the 42nd Division. The 5th Borders and the 8th Manchesters, the latter example the post WW2 version identical to the inter-war version.
