Could anyone help in ID of unit uniform and approximate date of photo. Embossed on mount "Crawford Hobart" Thanks, James

The photo details are too blurred to be sure of the insignia designs but if it is pre-1903 Tasmanian Local forces they would look as scanned.

Uniform appears scarlet with black cuffs and collar, smaller star pattern badge on helmet.

Potentially Corps of Australian Engineers in the first decade of the 20th Century, No 4 Electric Company or No 5 Field Company off the top of my head.
