I do not think it is a pathfinder eagle as I have only seen them as just the eagle, and very often pinback. Haven't done RAF in many years so I am sure there are better minds here to clarify for you.

Hi, the second badge is not a pathfinder badge. I think I'm correct in saying that there was an official issued pathfinder badge, with a pin back but I've never actually seen one in the flesh. As Home Guard states, just the eagle badge with no crown or tablet below. There is some discussion on this badge elsewhere on the forum and consensus seems to be that other eagles (with screw fasteners & wires) were also worn on uniform by those entitled to wear them. Yours, I think, is a copy of a badge that may have been an early women's hat badge - but not much is known about it.

Thanks for the info. So I'm still not 100% on this one.

The first attachment shows you the Pathfinder Eagle varieties. The second shows the various versions of the badge you asked about. As Craig says there is little information available about this badge but it is known that many fakes have been made.

Thanks for all the info very useful. I've had a look in my records and found it's a restike and I only paid 6.99 for it 2 years ago.
