Alan,

It looks very similar to the Luton VTC badge on the thread which at this moment is before this one!

Thanks to you both Griff and Keith,
I couldn't get the luton item file to open, and didn't see the content until Griff featured it as part of his reply.
That believe me is as mentioned - IS spooky! I thought it might be an old Borough Constabulary / police collar badge,as it doesn't look too military to me.
Cheers.
Alan

Never seen this thread before, a bit before my time, but just for the record the badge in the opening post was worn on the epaulettes by Luton Borough Police. The Luton VTC badges were brass, not wm.

Collar badge worn by Luton Borough Police. Produced in white metal and chrome. Interestingly they were never made in facing pairs as you would normally expect.

Dave, like Liverpool Pals collar badges , it is heraldically wrong ( I am led to understand) for crest collar badges to face each other.

Peter,

You are quite right. Why it was never altered I know not. It was worn as an epaulette badge by the police (in chrome) through to the demise (second time around) of the Borough Police on 31st March 1966.

Dave.
