Default Badge identification please

Hi all
A while ago I purchased a few lots of military badges at an auction with a view to selling them in my Ebay shop (I generally sell paper ephemera on Ebay but wanted to try my hand at another niche ); I've sold a handful and have enjoyed trawling the internet identifying them and gaining a little knowledge whilst doing so.
Some of the badges I've drawn a blank and I would really appreciate if someone would kindly help me id these.
Here is some pics of the first one, the badge measures approx 75mm long x 42mm wide and is lugged at the back - the only reference I could see on the internet was the one in the link below but it doesn't give you much info

https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/a...9-a3f6012a7419

Thank you in advance
Rab

The badge has been discussed a number of times before here, I thought I had found a definitive answer but it was not the case so I will look again.

Default Martingale Identification

I have this martingale which I have been unable to Identify. Could it be the insignia to one of the knights of the garter? Unless its a fake I would say it is over 100 years old. Can anyone help?
Garry.

Hello Garry

I would say it is livery related rather than military. A nice piece of horse furniture all the same!

It features the coronet of an earl on top, and I'm fairly sure his crest, the dragon's head on a coronet, in the center. Which earl had such a crest?
