Badge needing I.D.
Hello chaps can anyone help in identifying this badge. It looks like it is pewter, it is 33 mil at its highest point and 30 mil wide.
Thanks Garry. |

Badge
This looks like an livery crest which was worn on horse harness, nothing to do with the military IMO.

This is a British Naval ships crest...... what ship though? Could be the crest of a Port.

Thanks Chaps I will put it down as Naval. I would also take a guess and say due to the metal used it is a very old type of badge. Anymore thoughts?

Hi Garry
Its and old badge if its the soft pewter kind. I have a soft pewter badge that is a "Kent regiment" crossbelt item (I think) thats probably early 1800s. Your badge has that "accouterments" insignia look to it........ put into a leather item?

Thanks for the input chaps. Yes it has a soft pewter feel to it.If it dates back to the 1800's and it belongs to HMS Battleaxe that would be great. Alas. I think that would be too much to hope for.

Unidentified crest
Similar to the unofficial badges for H.M.S. BIRMINGHAM.
