Hi Didier
First one is I think called a 'War Services Badge' for WWI, and the last one is a Merchant Navy lapel badge.
Cheers,
Alex

The top badge is the 'Silver War Badge' (SWB), sometimes erroneously called the 'Silver Wound Badge'. It was authorised in September 1916 and was awarded to all of those military personnel who were discharged as a result of sickness or wounds contracted or received during the war, either at home or overseas.

Regards,

Peter.

Default Royal Defence Corps

The remaining badge, with the coloured enamel, is a sweetheart brooch to the Royal Defence Corps, this particular pattern dates early WW1 and if as scarce as the Cap Badge is, it is rather collectable?

Didier,

Unless you have access to the the right records, I am a unsure how you made the connection between the number on the back of the SWB and the MIC on the National Archives website.

May I ask if you have access to the SWB records?

Regards,

Peter.

Didier,

No. The number on the back of the SWB is not the soldier's service number.

I know that some SWB records have become available online, but do not know for certain if all SWB records are, just yet. There may be some forum members who have access to SWB lists, or who can assist you with researching this particular badge number.

The soldier who you accessed via the National Archives website, was not the recipient of your SWB.

Cheers,

Peter.

No problem at all, its always great when you can put a person to the item; it gives it a bit more life.
